On April 21, I was invited to be a guest on Cherry Divine’s Radiant Conversations show on Blog Talk Radio. (www.cherrydivine.com). Among other things, we talked about my new book, “The Soul of the Heart “ and the accompanying meditation CD. I loved the flow of the show because Cherry channels information from the “ancients” and together we had an amazing show.
I am always deeply touched with how many folks, as adults, continue to struggle with their relationships with their parents. Now, as baby boomers, many are dealing with aging parents. As the issues are shifting, many of the parents need more care. If an individual still has unresolved childhood issues, it can be challenging to take care of someone that one may be angry with. I’ve heard many of the adult children talk about how they have never been accepted by their parent or parents, and how could they possibly be expected to lovingly take care of a parent when they are still wanting approval? I feel that one way to resolve this deep-seated issue is through the honoring of our father and mother, and handing back the burdens that are not ours to carry. It’s a beautiful releasing of energy that has profound affects on the individual and their family.
Much of the work that I do focuses on the invisible dynamics of the collective energy of a system. This includes the system of your body, the system of a business, and the system of your family collective. As an individual consciously intends to create peace within themselves, it is imperative, that they find a place within themselves to consent to the reality that they were born into. This means, fully honoring and loving their father and mother exactly as they are. This can be a tall order for folks because of the deep pain many children have towards their parents. Part of this resolution is mainly helpful for the individual who partakes in the process. When an adult child can take their parents exactly as they are, it empowers the individual. This empowerment leads to deep resolution and consequently deep profound healing on an emotional, physical, and spiritual level. Part of the commitment entails putting down the story of who we think we are, and having the courage and insight to take responsibility for where one is in their life. While it is not our place to change someone else, it is our place to fully step into who we are, and to honor the circumstances or fate that we were born into. While we may not fully embrace our name or our family, when we consent to the reality and the truth, that we are our fathers and mothers, we can fully step into our essential and beautiful self.
The essence of the book and meditation CD, is to perhaps look at one’s life with more gentleness and compassion. Acknowledging the fact that all of us, at any given time, is doing the very best that we could possibly do. This book/CD is about compassion and forgiveness for oneself and for others.
I feel that as a culture and globally, we are at the cross roads of change. War, anger and intolerance have not served us. Now is the time to put down the weapons and come to terms with one’s own truth and reality. For many, the war is over and has been for many years. Yet, some folks continue to fight their inner demons of the past. What will it take to put down the “storyline” and move forward into a new level of consciousness? Today is the day, and you ultimately are the one who will decide if this worn out fight is worth losing your life for.
With Peace and a Grateful Heart, Catherine
